Peniel-by-Galilee is one of the most beautiful spots in the region. The Tiberias YMCA center includes the Harte Memorial Chapel with its large panoramic windows, overlooking the Sea of Galileeand the Mount of Beatitudes.
Peniel has a story of its own. The building, also known as the Harte Villa, was built for Dr. Archibald Harte, who was General Secretary of the Jerusalem YMCA in the 1920's, and after Harte's death it became one of the association's guest houses.
The lobby, with its Middle Eastern atmosphere, grants a sense of fascinating history. The 13 comfortable rooms by the Sea of Galilee offer a haven of beautiful scenery as well as tranquility.
