Nahal Havarim Farm

Dorit and Yankele (Jacob) Geva met and married at Sharm el-Sheikh.  Yankele, an associate of Neot Hakikar and a founder of the “Avi Desert Safari Tours” and “Caravan Inn” has lived and guided in the Sinai and Negev deserts since 1970.  Dorit is a native of Eilat and a teacher by profession. Itamar, their 18-year-old son is in 12^th grade.  The Geva family established their farm in order to preserve the existing archeological ruins of an ancient Nabatean farm once located on the spice route.  The farm is participating in a new project called the Wine Route.

On the farm there are 3 guest rooms (zimmer) looking out at ancient Avdat and the Dibshon Heights.  The farm presently boasts a young olive grove and a vegetable garden.  In the near future another three guest rooms will be completed as well as a reconstructed oil press to demonstrate the process of manufacturing olive oil.

Yankele drives and guides a desert safari vehicle with room for 32 people.  He’s a licensed guide and tour operator with the Ministry of Tourism.  He guides 32-seater safari tours, jeep tours and walking tours.

The region of the Negev heartland, Sde Boker, Avdat, Nahal Zin and the Ramon Crater offers a variety of routes, among the most beautiful in the country, by foot or by vehicle.  All tours are accompanied by Yankele’s vivid explanations of geology, history, geography, flora, fauna and Beduin folklore.
