A bit of history…
In 1949, more than 50 religious pioneers – members of the Baha''d movement in England - many of which were of the 100,000 Jewish children who arrived from Germany to England in the ''kinder transports'' of the thirties, decided to build their new home on a barren hilltop in the lower Galilee. The hill is located at an strategic placr overlooking the Nazareth – Tiberius road.
There is much historical significance to both the location and the name of Kibbutz Lavi.
The Kibbutz is situated at 311 meters above sea level, and there is an ancient road inn near by named the Lavi inn . |
